How to Remember Passwords

Estimated read time 2 min read

Have you ever forgotten one of your passwords? Let’s be honest, we’ve all been there… so we have few tips to share that will help you remember the next password you create.

To make things easier, we’ve come up with a simple formula:

[Applicable] Symbol + Meat + Number Cadence = StrongPassword 💪

Symbol

Pick a nice symbol to start your password. We like the hashtag/pound symbol # because it’s like you’re writing a hashtag on social media. Now it’s like your password has now become something you can stand behind.

Password Progression: #

Meat (+ capitalization influx)

Next, you’re going to have to find the “meat” of your password. What’s the “meat” of the password?! The meat is something that has played a significant role in your life. It could be part of your name, street name, school, favorite _____?_____, etc.
*Note: It’s important to utilize capitalization for a stronger password. There will need to be an influx of what characters will be capitalized and which ones won’t. Remember to make it easier on yourself and have it make sense.

Password Progression: #Hometown

Number Cadence

Now’s the time where you add your favorite number(s) or add a cadence you can remember. This can be the last four digits of your social security number, the last four digits of your phone number, your birth year, etc.

Password Progression: #Hometown5309  (*If my phone number were XXX-867-5309)

We hope these tips help you the next time you create a password worth remembering! And remember, please write your passwords down somewhere where you are not going to forget them. Try using the “Notes” app on your phone or computer if you have an Apple device.
